31th of March TPCK theory in education

Technological pedagogical content knowledge 
PCK represents the blending of content and pedagogy into an understanding of how particular aspect of subject matter are organized, adapted, and represented for instruction.
PCK is a teachers understanding if how to help to students understand specific subject matter.
Also it was useful day because we found following programmes
Wolframalpha.com
Demonstration.wolfram.com. Which is important to use in subjects where teachers can find many applications(e.g Archimedes approximation of pi)
khan academy.org in which we can find many video lessons in English .
Before lessons teachers need to find videos to show for students the importance a of the learning particular topic(Tacoma bridge, YouTube video)
Wolfram mathematics is , they say ,also useful tool for teachers
idea we need to open a new subject-course, in which we can teach in integrated way between subjects, e.g math+physics , about 20 hours in year which can teach common materials or make projects.

28th of March . Reflection through the week

We answered for the questions like
 what surprised me most?, what I have found out new for me?,
What interested me more was the understanding the main idea that modern teacher have to use all opportunities iPad can offer in teaching and learning process and I started to learn to use I pads and now I know a few applications which I cab use in my job. For example I pad application 'Human body', I believe it is not useful only  for biology teachers, by using it you can understand and explain human body's work for your children. What interested me most was using the application 'Show me', which allow to make flipped lessons easily, it's use is very simple and similar to smart boards program.Also,I would like to say about application 'book creator', with the help of it  you and your students can create a book which may consist everything including music, video,text,i movie,photo etc.
What surprised me most and can be useful in my job is using the program SOCRATIVE.COM with the help you can easily take test and surveys from the audiences of your lecture or at lesson.
What surprised me most was the price for I pads- its price 5 times cheaper than price for PC and it is convenient and economically benefit to use I pads rather than laptops. 
Teachers have to be ready to implement an innovative ideas and projects and ask from ME a new changes in curriculum and do not wait them. That is why Finnish teachers considered best in the world, because they are eager to implement invitational ideas in education.
What amused me more was the action and behavior of young teacher Aleksi that despite being young he is already start to manage very important project. We should be like him when we will come back to KZ we need to start new project and do not give up
something I didn't know before was the practice work of Finnish student teachers lasts 1 month in schools and they  do it each year and study period consist 5 terms about 6-7 weeks and after each term there are test week. What surprised me most was the course for 7th grade students 'home economy',in which students learned to do chores and cooking, etc.
Also I finished to feel my blog and learnt how to make test for survey in Google drive. I feel positive about my project work which has been approved by Mr Vesa.

27th March we are going to go to Kazakhstan embassy in Finland

Today there are no lesson for me, but I got up early and learnt how to make tests in google drive and I am looking forward to see the answers

25th of March. visiting city Rihimakki

Today we visited 2 schools 1 comprehension school, and 2 upper secondary school. Found out about the course for 7th graders called 'home economy', in which students learned how to cook, make chores,manage money and even sell homemade products and vegetables.
In lessons used Ipads, there also project about pupils who cannot attend school if they are ill so classmates  speaks with him, thus encouraging him to back to school as soon as possible.
Schools are well equipped,400 st-45 stuff-principal
they do not have exam, even when they are graduated there are no exam, there were also 2 students of universities who were practicing here. We found out from them that practical work longed 1 month and for every year. Visited some classes
Afternoon: We have met with one young teacher and project manager who is researching the use of I pads in education.The main advantages of I pads versus laptops is its price. I pads is twice chipper and also it is convenient to use it is light and its battery's capacity is stronger. They did experiment using iPad in learning(book creator) and want to compare results with another class. I got the idea to develop myself  'how to use iPad in math lessons'. In thisproject, and implement it, there are no resistances from older teacher as we expected. All teachers are eager to implement invitational projects.

Ipads is useful for making portfolio, e.g. 'What i have learned during these 3 years' 
ICT literacy,  students nowadays can easily find information from internet, we should teach them  in student centered way, just to give them question and students try to find out the answer or decisions
Teachers have to be active themselves and do not wait while Ministry of Education will offer them any changes, they need to be initiators
World is changing to fast, there will be no more published books(Ipad era) and we teachers must learn how to use them in our lessons

26th of March ICT literacy with Sanna

I worked all day with Blogger and finished filling information into it(i need to do it every day)
with the help of Google drive i need to learn how to make tests they said that it is easy and convenient
 open the Site Afternoon i had 2 online lessons and finished book 'Secrets'


24th of March- Using I pads in learning and teaching

Importance  of using ICT in learning and teaching, combine ICT and pedagogy

21th of March reflection for the whole week about EE

Main objectives of EE
-develop entrepreneurial skills of students
-to foster students to be  entrepreneurial
-to understand what is it to be entrepreneurial
-create supportive environment for implementing invitational ideas(from ideas to action)
What we have learned?
we understood what is entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial behavior and comprehend the importance of providing EE in our education system and teach EE
activities about how we see E Learning schools it is for teachers
saw video about EE(windmills)
what entrepreneurs do? what is business opportunity? (activity for groups)
saw project 'rocket science' and participated in making our own project about this(activity can be interesting for students and teachers too) understand that persuasion skills can be crucial in implementing new ideas
make school plan for implementing EE in our schools
What can we do in our workplaces ?
-organize workshop for teachers and repeat all the activities that Finnish teachers did for us
-adaptate some activities in order to use them in our subject teaching
-suggest to administration and stuff to create new course about EE and help them implement this project
-Try to say about importances of EE in our lessons and foster our students to develop their entrepreneurial behavior

20th of March

19th of March

Entrepreneurship in Education
we understood the following items
- why is EE is so important nowadays
-activity which are useful for implementing EE
-what are the important things in order to be entrepreneur
17 sheet of papers with different statements such as 'I can do it','I haven't found answer yet'- through group work we should eliminate 8 of sheets and post remainders by importance and make a 'diamond'
Conclusion
- we need to start and implement EE in our school when we will come back to KZ
-I need to download all the materials from moodle, it is important for implementation of  policy EE
Next activity was about clip. Facilitator gave us clips and we thought about what we can do with it and how many products we can offer for customers(needle, cleaning tool,rings...)

they organized a group work activity, in which each group has to represent their ideas about implementing EE in their workplaces.
We decided- to open a course called 'entrepreneurship development', which is going to support entrepreneurial behavior of students.
Make a plan for project of how to develop a school to teach EE and foster students be more entrepreneurial.
In this plan should be at least:
-objectives
-methods
-time table
-expected results


18th of March

Entrepreneurship Education
Lessons were at Visamaki and conducted by Vesa. He told us again about Entrepreneurship, how to develop it. We had worked in team with one Finnish girl who opened her own company, which helps people by nursing their children(5-6 euro per hour). By working in a team we tried to answer to the questions
1- What do entrepreneurs do?
2-What is business opportunity?
A business opportunity is all the opportunity to make money, we just need to chose one which is sustaiable for us.
Afternoon we again worked with group on a project called 'Rocket science', made rockets and learnt to persuade others to listen to us and take their attention in 1 minute
we offered them football
in space, wedding ceremonies etc.

17 th of March-Monday

Entrepreneurship in Education
It is important to improve entrepreneurship abilities of ourselves and our students so in my opinion in our schools we need to have policy of entrepreneurship (shortly Entrepreneurship Education)
-How do you see school of entrepreneurship and what are the expectations
-flexibility,connections with real life,creativity,independent thinker
-Create management and ownership of a small enterprise, referring to the individual entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship refers to an individuals ability to turn ideas into action. It involves creativity, innovations and risk taking as well as the ability to plan and manage projects in order to achieve objectives

14th of March

Participated in IPTE group with professional  facilitator Ritta
Our group were prepared to present to others and familiarize them about collaborative learning, also familiarize ourselves by listening other groups presentation with other approaches in pedagogy such as PBL, Discovery learning, Evidence based learning and their key features. Afternoon we had taken new tasks for our next meeting.

13th of March

even it was lesson for 2 grade they solved math tasks which were quite difficult though the topic was easy-division of expressions

we went to visamaki but there were not any lesson due to responsibilitiy of professor, however when i got there again  at 4 o'clock I tought a lesson  about matrices and prepare them for examination,it was a good opportunity to speak in English

10th of March

We, with Zhanat have decided to choose the main topic for our development work- Modern teaching approaches and key features in teaching math  in more student centered way. also we decided to make video, so we  want to make flipped classroom too.
From 8 to 11 we had a lesson with Helena Aarnio started to learn about dialogical methods. We did exercise called 'mingling'(to help to chose peers randomly)- introduced ourselves by associating our names.
After then we talked about the differences between dialogue and discussion

did exercise called 'Method of cards'where every member of group used 5 cards to speak or ask questions so maintaining dialogue be equally and symmetrically
Compared dialogical method and other(traditional) methods, worked with groups and presented our ideas

7th of March

Today was productive and useful day. We had a visitor- Ritta, principal lecturer, doctor PhD in psychology. She toughs us concepts in learning such as behavioral, constructionist. I asked question about constructivist concept of learning and understood it- you construct your own knowledge based on previous knowledge and experiences and add new information and understanding through thinking and processing it .We compared these approaches with traditional approach of teaching and highlighted its strong and week sides. There were revision of our answers and thoughts about our pedagogical attitude which she took through survey and questionnaire on the boards when we participated in conference.Results of this survey by according to her were good. Afternoon she explained us about project work and development work. Each of us must start to write developing work and choose which side or aspect of education system we would like to explore or delve deeper by investigating them.

We should finish making tentative plan till 15th of march. I think I will chose topic about how to make learning process more  student centered way,to foster students to be self directed and observe about collaborative learning, PBL, activities, teachers behavior.
We congratulated our women colleagues with international woman's day, make them a wonderful table with candies, pie,rose, cakes.

6th of March

At 8 o'clock we already were at Kaulu school in order to observe math lesson one of  their teacher. Class consist about 37 students 11th grade. Lesson in my opinion was quite normal nothing special to attention.The 3 factor that i noticed was -Using projector gives a good opportunity to lead  lesson -Tasks were about powers, which in our country students learned in 9th grade, however tasks were complicated one and the lesson was as a repeating -All of them was given sheet of papers with math tasks and also sheets were in different color- Students are more self directed, behavior similar to adults more responsible and self organized.
One lesson lasts 75 min 3 lessnon in one week so all together 3*75=225min
5 terms in one study year, each of them lasts 6-7 week and after each terms there are test week
Afternoon I had a lesson in Visamaki about complex numbers. I suppose it is going to be our last lesson in Visamaki, because professor doesn't want to give us opportunity due to  students started to like our lesson very much, sometimes when I see such teachers I wonder how Finland become leader in Education field.

5th of March

It was my birthday, so we started to celebrate it earlier and I had a big or huge headache. Until 5 pm  I cannot wake up when I  at last woke up I started to organize second round of celebration. All my colleagues gathered in dormitory and spend a good time till 11 pm after we went to karaoke bar and song different songs

4th of March

We  went to Kaulu school which is near to Villaaino and again met principal of this school. He told us shortly about school and geographic teacher introduced us with the matriculation exam.Matriculation exam which is obligatory exam after graduating high school and necessary for entering to universities. After  introducing ME we had a tour inside a school  with some of their students. We  saw some cabinets, classrooms and lessons and work of students in learning process( but I saw nothing special in teaching method except behaviour of students which looks more adult like )

3th of March

 We had an appointment with Kaulu school director at 9 in Mentori HAMK. He told us about FES and that his school is one of the best school in Hamelinna area. He also told us about International projects, clubs and funding schools.Workload of teachers are  quite high, but usually they do only lessons and nothing more. One of the important things that director must to do is create a good atmosphere. Trust to your colleagues play an crucial role in developing togetherness.
